Ingredients
1/4cupHoney
3TablespoonsMustard(dijon or yellow mustard)
1/2cupMayonnaise
1 to 2TablespoonsVinegar(white or apple cider)
Optional:
1/4teaspoon eachSalt and Pepper
Instructions
Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and vinegar until well combined.
Season: Taste and add salt and black pepper to taste, and whisk again to ensure everything is well mixed.
Taste and Adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning or sweetness to your preference. If you prefer a tangier dressing, add a bit more mustard. If you like it sweeter, add a touch more honey.
Chill: For best results, refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
Store the dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Give it a good shake or stir before using it again.
Notes
Honey: Use your favorite liquid, runny honey for this recipe. This adds not only sweetness but creaminess as well.
Mustard: The type of mustard you choose to use is a personal flavor preference. Dijon mustard is a popular choice for honey mustard dressing due to its smooth texture and tangy flavor. However, you can also experiment with whole grain mustard for added texture or yellow mustard for a milder taste.
Mayonnaise: Use full-fat mayonnaise which makes the dressing creamier and richer. My favorite mayonnaise is Duke's mayonnaise.
Vinegar: You can use white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar in this recipe.
