Ingredients
1cupButtersoftened
1 1/2cupsSugar
2Eggs
2teaspoonsFresh Orange Zest
2teaspoonsVanilla or Almond Extract
3cupsFlour
1/2teaspoonCream of Tartar
1/2teaspoonBaking Powder
1/2teaspoonSalt
1 1/2cupsFresh Cranberrieshalved (or 1 cup Dried Cranberries)
1 1/2 - 2cupsWhite Chocolate Chips or Chunks
Optional Orange Glaze:
1/4cupButtersoftened
1 1/2cupPowdered Sugar
2TablespoonsFresh Orange Juice
2teaspoonsOrange Zest
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar for 4 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Add orange zest and vanilla or almond extract and cream for 1 minute.
Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, and salt and mix just until combined. Stir in cranberries and white chocolate.
Chill dough for 30 minutes.
Drop onto Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheets. Bake for 11-14 minutes or until lightly golden on edges. Let cool.
If making orange glaze: in a small bowl, stir together butter, powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth. Drizzle over cookies.
