Looking for a healthy, high-protein breakfast that’s easy to make and absolutely delicious? Greek yogurt bowls have been one of my favorite go-to breakfasts for nearly two decades and for good reason.
I first fell in love with yogurt parfaits at a breakfast buffet where rows of clear glasses were filled with creamy Greek yogurt, colorful fresh fruit, and crunchy granola. There were so many flavor combinations, I had to try them all (in the name of “research,” of course). Each bite was perfectly balanced…rich, tangy yogurt, naturally sweet fruit, and just the right amount of texture from the toppings.
That experience turned me into a lifelong fan of Greek yogurt breakfast bowls. They’re quick to make, customizable, packed with protein, and great for meal prep. Whether you’re looking for easy breakfast ideas, creative Greek yogurt toppings, or healthy snacks that actually keep you full, this post has you covered.

How to add more protein to yogurt:
If you want to add more protein to greek yogurt, here are some suggested add-ins…
Protein Powder: By adding 1 scoop of protein powder, you may be adding about 25 grams of protein. If you prefer to add 1/2 scoop of of protein powder, you will be adding 12 grams of protein.
Nut Butters: By adding 2 Tablespoons of natural almond or peanut butter, you will be adding about 7 grams of protein to the greek yogurt.
Chia Seeds: By adding 2 Tablespoons of chia seeds, you will be adding about 4-5 grams of protein.
Cottage Cheese: Add more protein to greek yogurt by adding cottage cheese. You can blend it ahead of time for a smooth cottage cheese but it adds about 14 grams of protein per 1/2 cup.
Here is how to make a 40g protein yogurt bowl…
Start with a high-protein, unsweetened Greek yogurt (think Fage, Kirkland Signature, etc) and add 1/2 scoop of protein powder and 2 Tablespoons of nut butter.
Greek Yogurt Bowl Ingredients:
Yogurt bowls have to start off with yogurt, of course! There are all types of Greek Yogurt to choose from — some are quite tart and may need a drizzle of honey, agave nectar, real maple syrup, or brown sugar. There is also Vanilla Greek Yogurt which is already sweetened and doesn’t need anything else but to be topped with your favorite fruits and granola.
GREEK YOGURT: My favorite brands are Fage, Chobani, and Kirland Signature Greek Yogurt (from Costco).
