Healthy Juice Cleanse Recipes
Four healthy juicing recipes to give your body natural energy and helps to detoxify the body!
Juice bars are popping up everywhere for good reason! Drinking fresh juices can detoxify the body, help to create a more alkaline body, and to give a boost of energy and a clear mind.
Juicing is a powerful tactic used by a quickly-growing amount of people to lose weight fast, get proper nutrition, and help fuel healthy lifestyles.
Whenever I come from vacation or a particularly bad eating night, I reach for a healthy juice to cleanse my body and give my digestive system a break.
I am sharing 4 of our favorite juicing recipes with an assortment of fruits and vegetables for variety. Since my oldest daughter is a "health freak" we make these homemade juices every week and store them in jars in the refrigerator to make them easily accessible. It saves SO much money juicing at home!
What are the health benefits of juicing?
According to the Mayo Clinic, by drinking freshly made juices, your body can absorb the nutrients better than eating whole fruits and vegetables and it gives your digestive system a rest from working on fiber. They say that juicing can reduce your risk of cancer, boost your immune system, help remove toxins from your body, aid digestion and help you lose weight. Fresh juices can give you a burst of energy and a clear mind.
What fruits and vegetables to use for juicing?
Some of the most popular vegetables are carrots, cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, beets, and romaine. The most popular fruits to use in juicing are lemons, oranges, apples, and limes. Other add-ins are fresh ginger, parsley, chlorella, and turmeric.
What are the health benefits of fruits and vegetables in a juice cleanse?
- Kale – insanely low in calories, powerful anti-oxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, and helpful for arthritis and autoimmune diseases
- Spinach – the beauty of spinach lies in how easy it is to disguise the taste. It’s mild tasting yet packed with vitamins, has anti-cancerous properties, and is one of the healthiest foods on the planet
- Cucumber – since it’s 95% water, it’s an incredible detoxifier and helps with liver and kidney function
- Lemon – one of the most important items to stock in your kitchen as it’s a highly effective cleansing agent and cuts through the bitterness of greens
- Carrots - known for being a good source of beta-carotene, fiber, vitamin K, and potassium. Carrots have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and improved eye health
- Celery - low in calories since it is mostly water. It is a low-glycemic food and a good source of dietary fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin K.
- Beets - contain nutrients that may help lower your blood pressure, fight inflammation, and support detoxification.
- Apples - "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" is a famous saying for good reason. Helps to fight inflammation and heart health.
- Oranges - immune system booster since it is high in Vitamin C and low in calories.
- Turmeric – anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties
- Ginger – aids in digestion and supports the immune system

I started Juicing 2 weeks ago and have been wanting to try some new ones. These are perfect. I’m excited to test them out!
Kristal
WE just made double batches of all 4 of these recipes and my kids and husband won't leave them alone! Looks like we'll have to make this a weekly thing too. Thanks a bunch! So good!!! and if it can clear this mind a bit, you're a miracle worker!
jenny
yummm! Love the green juice recipe.

The only thing I can say is, THANK YOU. Reading through your story I finally felt like I wasn't imagining things. I have hypothyroidism (past 25 years - treated with Synthroid) but in the past year or two I've noticed I've been reacting more and more to refined sugars, dairy...I thought I was just all of a sudden intolerant. And I have also unexplained weight gain although I work out, hike, swim, wake board, ski and rock climb (at 51). I've started making many changes but your site has been a light at the end of the tunnel. Going to follow you on Instagram now!
Paula
I added spinach to the detoxifier and it was delicious!
Dennis
These juice recipes look absolutely yum. Would definitely try them out this week as I recently hit the gym again and been looking for something healthy yet tasty to drink again. Thanks a ton for these 🙂

Does that mean each recipe serves 4? Like if I made the green juice, would that be 4 servings? I'm trying to do a 7 day juice cleanse and just wanted to know if I bought all of the ingredients listed above, would that last me 3 meals a day for 7 days? Or would it only be enough for 4 meals? Thanks in advance for your input! 🙂
Tiana
I have the same question! Lol have you received a response yet?
Paul
I just made the detox - granted output will vary by machine and size of ingredients but for me it made about 44+ oz.
Cathy Walls
So is this one juice or is it 4? I'm talking about just the green juice.
Malli Sara
It's a very helpful post. thanks for sharing this.
Janice Boykin
Do you have to peel and cut the fruits and veggies up before juicing them?
Tonya Nelson
I would not...the peel contains the best nutrients...get organic to avoid pesticides.
shakira
how long do i cleanse for? 5 or 7 days?
Nicole Olveda
I want to try this. Do you drink all 4 bottles in one day? How many days in a row can you do this?
Christian Struck
How many fluid ounces are you counting as a serving?
Laurie
I am wondering the same thing, but it seems that they do not respond to questions.

Do I peel the produce first?
Mandy
Hello - thank you for these recipes - so excited to try The Detoxifier - I LOVE beet juice! Have you experimented with recipes using the pulp from these juices? I hate the waste and definitely want the benefit of the fiber!
Heather
My boyfriend likes to mash the pulp up and add black beans and make veggie burgers. He says they are great and taste similar to falafel.
Rose Welsh
So how long can you store the juices for in the fridge?
ARMELA ARBOLEDA
Hi,
Been searching for a recipe for juices and found yours looks good and can't wait to try it next. But i have a question if you don't mind. I've been starting making and drinking juices of different kinds and most of it contains green apples, carrots, ginger, beetroots, lemon, kale, orange and cucumber. Is this a good combination of ingredients? I don't know if this is right that's why I'm searching for one that I could based upon. Your advise is highly appreciated.
Thank you..
Armela from Dubai.
AMY
I’M WANTING TO DO YOU JUICES BUT ABOUT HOW MANY OUNCES IS FOUR SERVINGS? I WANT TO MAKE SURE I HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE JARS TO STORE THEM IN.
THANK YOU
Dee
I love your juice recipes and can’t wait to try them. I started juicing when I was growing up. While most kids were having milk and cookies my father made me carrot juice after school. Lol. However, I always used a book by Dr. Norman Walker for juicing as well as Jay Kordich’s juicing recipes for decades. According to them who are the fathers of juicing you should drink your juice soon after juicing because it loses its enzymes, yet you say we can store them in the fridge for ten days. How certain are you about this?
Art
Tried your recipes today!! just awesome taste!! went 80% vegan and lost 10 pounds, now I want to try and juice one meal a day! and juice one day a week and fast!! each one is unique! saved the left over roughage for my smoothie shakes next week!! Just put them in small bags in the freezer! another person said to add oatmeal and black beans to make veggie burgers! i will try that also!
Tinker
Thanks for that suggestion. I was going to google some advice on what to do with it since there’s so much I was certain there was some ideas out there!
Art
Truly wonderful taste!1 Tried all four!! awesome taste! thx so much!!! will juice once a day, and one day a week and fast on that day!!
Liliana Magana
Thanks for sharing the recipe just one question, how many days do you recommend juicing? I am so ready to do this.
Hilary
These taste amazing!!! So excited to routinely do a juice cleanse. Now I understand why buying pure juice is so expensive ... all these ingredients yield very little juice, haha.
1st - 36 ounces
2nd - 18 ounces
3rd - 16 ounces
4th - haven’t had a chance to make it ...need to put my boys down for bed.
They all taste so amazing though.
Thanks for the recipes.!.!.!.
Tinker
I can’t thank you enough for these recipes! I just bought a new Brentwood juicer. Yesterday I made the Drink your greens and my daughter and I LOVED it! Today I made the Sweet Carrot.
OH EM GEE SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!! I could kick myself for not buying a juicer sooner! I will be trying the other two tomorrow and the next day. I’ll have to find some cheaper organic carrots because I didn’t get a whole lot and I’m gonna need a whole lot lol.
Thanks again!
Jean
Thank you for sharing! I have been juicing kale, parsley, carrot, ginger, apple, cucumber....great combo
Cam
I have a vitamix. Can I use it if I dont have a juicer??
Laura
What kind of apples did you use?
Home Plix
Thanks for giving me this idea! In the next days, I will prepare this juice for me and my brother (that love very much juice). Thanks for sharing such an awesome juicing recipe.
Tawnya
I can't eat Apples, do you have a suggestion for a substitution that will have the same effect as apples when it comes to cutting the bitterness or earthiness of some vegetables? More oranges...pears? Thank you.
Cs
Sweet red grapes are awesome!
Sheena
Love these recipes! I was feeling so sluggish and had trouble consuming enough fruits and veggies on a daily basis and this has helped immensely. The kids and husband are drinking some of these also...and that in itself is impressive considering they usually won’t even touch veggies.

In "Drink Your Greens" - I just used a Ninja blender and put all the ingredients in with the lemon unpeeled but seeded and peeled ginger. It all came out like a smoothie. I put water and ice in it and more ice water when I put it it in my glass to drink. It is a little strong but after I put ice water in it and a little bit of honey, it came out great. Should I just use a lemon juice? This came out like a smoothie and ate/drink it up. Is that okey as long as scrubbed and clean all the ingredients well? Thanks.

I haven't tried these recipes yet. I need to buy a juicer 1st.
My joints aren't too much of a problem. However, I do have Whiplash Syndrome. The muscles in my neck stay inflamed 24/7. I now use a TENS/NMES unit along with physical therapy, steroid/epidural blocks and pain management medication.
Unfortunately, the inflamed neck muscles have not been nice to my neck bones. There's a touch of arthritis and a small bit of stenosis due to the trauma of being rear ended. (The 19 year old boy was too busy messing with his cell phone. He hit so hard it also partially detached the retina in my right eye. That was easily fixed. Unfortunately, I'm still suffering because of him. He had no injuries.)
Anyway, I've been reading up on foods and beverages that can inflame and/or make inflammation worse. Sodas and high fructose corn syrup are 2 culprits that I have drastically reduced. I rarely drink soda and if I get a craving for one, I buy the ones made with regular white sugar.
I completely stay away from fake sugars. I think they are toxic and worse on your body than high fructose corn syrup. I tried a diet drink once and my body did not appreciate it.
I'm 43 so I know my body can benefit from juicing.
I lost my colon over 10 years ago. I also have abdominal scar tissue which has caused some of my small intestines to narrow. I can no longer have insoluble fiber and 10 grams or less of soluble fiber. Being blocked 19 times was torture.
This means that raw, fresh fruits and veggies are out.
So juicing is my only way to get the nutrients my body needs.
Evan
Juice cleanses can help kick start a weight loss plan and encourage healthy eating habits. It is a relatively easy diet because the suggested fruits and vegetables are easy to find, no matter where you live. They are available at the local supermarket.
Carrie
Just started juicing today and still learning the ropes. Love Drink your Greens, especially over ice like you suggested! LOL! It would be great to know how much a serving size is? Don't want to miss the purpose or overdo it. Thanks!
Akuila
Just what i was looking for ,God bless you.
Mariaski

Amanda

I first want to start off saying that I love these recipes! They are not only easy to make they are also delicious. My boyfriend and I did a 3 day juice cleanse that we purchased on Amazon for $110 each. I purchased an abundance of ingredients at BJ's (Costco) for around $40 and still have some ingredients left over.
As many of you previously asked, I was also curious how much each recipe made. So here is how I broke it down:
Drink Your Greens: 1 Batch = 40oz
The Detoxified: 1 Batch = 32oz
The Vision: 1 Batch = 20oz
Sweet Carrot: 1 Batch = 32oz
This was my first time juicing and I found a lot of helpful tips along the way.
1. Cut all of your fruits and veggies first, it makes the juicing process a lot easier
2. I did not peel the carrots, cucumbers or apples just to save time
3. (this is a good one) I re-juiced all of the leftovers in the canisters. In other words, I took the left over pulp and ran it though the juicer again. I found that I got another 1/2 cup - 1 cup out of the pulp.
4. If you have extra containers or mason jars, double or triple the recipe so you don't have to juice as often. The juices can stay 7-10 days in the fridge and up to 3 months if frozen.
Lastly, and this is my personal opinion. Doing a 3 day juice cleanse is great but it is also very challenging. What I prefer is drinking the "Drink Your Greens" for breakfast and drink another juice later in the day as an afternoon snack or with dinner. I enjoy the way the juices make me feel and adding the extra nutrients into my diet doesn't hurt.

if i just make one batch using recipe above is that enough for 1 day? 3 days?
Tanya
I made the Detoxifier and it was DELICIOUS ????. I cant wait to try the others.
Peter

Heather

Hi what can I use instead of beets ?! I wanna try these tomorrow!
Kimi Lenertz
I look forward to juicing! How is juicing handled with food, what is the daily balance? What juice ingredients help with weight loss over others? Thank you.
Jenn W
Great article -- love the recipes! I love juicing, but I am a big fan of using them as a supplemental meal to a healthy diet. Juice cleanses are great for a quick weight loss but that weight usually comes back after a few weeks. So many great nutrients in these juices though - so drink up!
Fanny
Hello,
Can you use canned beets? No need to core the apples? Can we also use turmeric spice instead of the stem?
Thank you!
Katie
Can I use a ninja blender to make these, or strictly need a juicer? Thanks
